Physical Therapy Assistant (Healthcare PT) Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for the continuous improvement of total quality care as it relates to physical therapy care, under the direction of a physical therapist, which is rendered to the client.
Additional responsibilities of the Physical Therapy Assistant include:
Ensuring that all clients receive the care per the physician's plan of treatment and/or plan of healthcareEnsuring that all client concerns and complaints are followed up with the appropriate supervisor within 24 hours and that they result in a satisfactory resolutionEnsuring that all clients consistently receive service as scheduled by arriving on time and notifying the appropriate supervisor and client of a delay in serviceReporting all pertinent client condition changes to the appropriate supervisor and/or caregiversAssisting with coordination of client care with appropriate caregivers, through documentation, verbal communication, and/or case conferencesFollowing established client plan of treatment/care as it relates to physical therapyAssisting in identifying the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of the client, and reporting them to the physical therapist for direction and follow-upMaintaining a clean and safe working environment by following Universal Precautions and Infection and Safety Control Guidelines as established by ResCare, Inc.Maintaining State/Federal Standards of Practice by ensuring PT Re-Evaluations on clients are completed at required intervals
Specific Requirements
Effective communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with a diverse population are essential for success in this PT Assistant role.
Additional requirements of the Physical Therapy Assistant include:
Graduate from a two year college-level program approved by the American Physical Therapy AssociationMinimum of 2 years of clinical experience assisting in the assessment and management of traumatic brain injury or related neurological conditionsKnowledge of complex neurologic injury and neuro-rehabilitation techniquesLicensed to practice in the state which employedEvidence of an annual TP test, CPR certification, and other state required tests

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
