Job Description:
At Regions, the Systems Administrator, under general supervision, is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established Information Technology (IT) policies and procedures
Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels
Monitors system software licensing and maintenance agreements
Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions
Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations
Supports media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services
Develops and promotes standard operating procedures
Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies and configuration guidelines
Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation
Some Scripting (i.e. PowerShell and Bash)
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Bachelors degree in a related field or a technical training program and four years experience
Or High school diploma or GED and seven years experience will also qualify
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to multitask and prioritize projects
Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills
Ability to work well in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
Required Technical Skills:
SQL scripting
Experience with Windows and UNIX servers
Change control experience
Preferred experience with the following tools: Ivanti, TFS, Atlassian, UrbanCode
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
Location:Hoover, Alabama

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
