Managing Director

Essential FunctionsQuality Resident Care and Customer Service
Responsible for the optimal health and welfare of the Residents.
Maintains ongoing liaison with hospital and health agencies.
Organizes, directs, and supervises program development and coordination of all services.
Directs consultation and counseling with Residents, Resident families and/or Resident sponsors
Ensures that each Resident has access to the proper care, services, and amenities to ensure the highest quality of life for the individual.
Ensures Resident socialization program meets the spiritual and social needs of all Residents.
Ensures the food service program is of high quality and meets the nutritional needs of all Residents.
Sales and Marketing
Responsible for achievement of occupancy goals established in the marketing plan.
Responsible for planning and attending afterhours marketing events
Performs duties assigned by the Management Company in implementation of marketing plan strategies with in budgetary controls.
Achieves individual lease signing, and move in goals.
Achieves closing of move in/contract signing.
Interprets the Cottage's philosophy to the Residents, Residents' families, Residents' friends, and staff members as well as other health agencies.
Financial Management
Assists in the preparation of annual budget and review of monthly financial statements in consultation with Management Company.
Carries out the billing, accounts payable and payroll policies and procedures.
Reviews all expenditures, establishing priorities, and recommending necessary changes.
Ensures proper staffing at all times to ensure Resident needs are met and budgetary guidelines are adhered to.
Personnel Management
Meets with department directors / coordinators on a regular basis.
Hires, trains, and supervises department directors / coordinators.
Ensures effective recruiting, hiring, training and ongoing development of all personnel.
Ensures all staff adheres to workplace safety policies, procedures and techniques.
Facilities Management
Implements changes in operating procedures.
Authorizes the purchases of supplies, equipment, inventory, and furnishings for the upkeep of the building and grounds.
Negotiates and prepares contracts with consultants and outside vendors.
Perform weekly tour of the physical plant to identify and schedule resolution of maintenance and housekeeping issues.
Ensure scheduled Maintenance work is completed, performed to standard and within budgetary guidelines.
General
Discusses with the Management Company issues concerning programs of service, policy changes, and other suggestions for improving marketing and sales success.
Prepares and submits reports for State Agencies.
Meets with Residents and staff committees as needed.
Continues professional growth through current literature, institutes, workshops, and membership in professional organizations.
Fully understands the fire, safety, and emergency procedures of the Cottage.
Provides the Management Company with accurate and on time management information.
Prepares recommendations of ensuring budget year, interprets the budgetary guidelines to staff and maintains control over expenditures working within the current budgetary guidelines.
Performs all work or assigns work and is responsible for satisfactory completion of work scheduled in the Managing Director Checklist and other position checklist.

Must have ability to supervise and develop others.
Familiar with gerontology and an overall view of health care delivery, including State regulations.

Must have an overall "caring" personality and attitude.
Job Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4 year University.
Proficiency in MS Windows, and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing Administrators license in the State of operation (may be obtained after hire)
Must have ability to plan and adapt to change.
Must be able to lift 75 pounds unassisted and 125 pounds per person in a two person lift.
Must demonstrate proper body mechanics when required to lift or assist in a lift.
Will be regular in attendance, with the right attitude and attire
Valid driver's license in the state of employment required
Ability and willingness to drive a non-commercial 8 passenger van
Must be ready, willing, and able to recognize the needs of the Cottage.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
