Procurement Contract Manager

Job Description:
At Regions, the Procurement Contract Manager actively manages the contracting process associated with third party suppliers, including contract initiation, negotiation of commercial terms, contract execution, tracking, quality control and reporting activities. This role consults and advises senior management on contracting processes, structure, and business terms to achieve desired business and financial outcomes. The role interfaces with Corporate Legal, other risk management stakeholders and senior leaders to achieve contract objectives. The role reports to the head of Supply Chain Management and Procurement Operations and leads a team of Procurement contracting specialists.
Primary Responsibilities
Manages full cycle contracting process, ensuring efficiency and quality
Leads team and develops associates
Provides guidance on complex contract requirements, recommends contract language, and assists with contract negotiations
Negotiates with outside parties, and vendors on more complex commercial terms and in support of team members
Reviews and approves contracts
Anticipates and mitigates potential business problems involving the company
Protects the organizations rights in contract negotiations
Reviews vendor and supplier agreements for conformity to contract requirements
Plans assignments of projects and supervises process and team members
Assesses business implications and potential outcomes associated with business terms in contracts
Prepares and analyzes reports of contract activities, and presents recommendations
Develops and maintain process and procedure documents that are repeatable and clear
Interfaces with corporate legal to deliver effective contract outcomes
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field
Seven (7) years of relevant experience, including 2 years of banking or financial services experience
Preferences
Team leadership and management experience
Juris Doctorate degree (JD)
Skills and Competencies
Strong understanding of contracting principles, and experience developing and negotiating contract terms and conditions with suppliers or vendors
Strong analytical and process management skills
Ability to recommend and make changes in processes and procedures, driving continuous improvement of the contracting process
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities to meet tight deadlines
Ability and comfort working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Additional Responsibilities
Ensure data quality of contract attributes and enter into system of record to support accurate and efficient reporting
Prepare and present recommendations
This position may be filled in Birmingham, Charlotte, Nashville, or Atlanta.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
